First They Came…

THEY CAME FIRST for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.
THEN THEY CAME for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.
THEN THEY CAME for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
THEN THEY CAME for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant.
THEN THEY CAME for me,
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

You now is me later. Suffering cares for none.

Point a finger out upon the scenery and we’re focusing on an idea. Let’s look upon a better distance. We’ve come so far together. Look where else we can go.

Point a finger at a person and we’re targeting. It’s aggression. A poke. And an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Since elementary school, I pledged my allegiance from witches stand (still wondering where the brooms at…). Tell me to go back to where I came from and I’m like, “my room??” You ain’t dismissing me.

Strength is not how hard we come down. Strength is how much we can lift up. How much can we lift each other? How strong do we stand by each other? I am here. For if you push, of which we stand.

We’re all one. Together…we can…together…

Seek first to understand.
